Happy Birthday....
V turned 23 yesterday and she's been a bundle of joy and comfort to me all these years. The best sister one could ever hope to have. May her be happy always.....
Couldn't visit home this weekend. Mired in the myth of house-hunting. All my dreams of leaving the job and staying coolly at home vanish the moment I see the prices. P wants an independent house and the worst doesn't cost less than 40 lakhs. Actually I want to draw a limit on what we can afford and not let P get carried away in the EMI calculations.
P is again travelling next week. It's becoming difficult for him with the offshore work being very ordinary and full of politics and onsite taking him away from his kid, so to say. We missed the bus this weekend, literally.
The kid has some fixed ideas about how we should carry ourselves - Aayi and I shouldn't tie our hair in a knot, Pappa and P shouldn't tie their 'dhoti' up. Then, Pappa should say 'Namaskara' to everybody who steps inside the house. I should wear my dupatta. The front-house Uncle should carry only his son on his bike and nobody else. Also, there is another habit - the moment some outsider comes home, he hurries out. Guess why? To try their shoes on! He will walk in them for a minute with a smile on his face and then let them go.
Also, he doesn't share his eatables with anybody including us, much to P's discomfort. He wants his son to be a great man!!
